Shinglekill Policies


We are pet friendly for friendly pets! We do request you keep your pets with you at all times and clean up after them if needed. If you have a special night planned and need a pet sitter, our boys may be available with proper notice. We charge an additional $25.00 per pet for the stay. If your dog wants their own “room” we have a large dog crate for their comfort. Any damage caused by your pet will be automatically charged to your credit card and an itemized invoice will be sent to you. If your pet is a disruption to our other guests other accommodations will be arranged at your expense.  We always have a pile of pet treats on hand.

If you cannot bring your pet and need a pet fix you can visit Daisy Dog, Simon the Cat, Guinea the Guinea pig, Sir Pompadour and his flock of hens or (if you’re an insect lover) our very busy honey bees at Shinglekill Farm


For rooms, a credit card is needed to hold your reservation.  If you wish to pay with a check or cash upon your arrival please advise and we will not charge your credit card.  However, if you should cancel less than 21 days prior to your reservation date your card will be charged per our cancellation policy.

Cancellation Policy

We understand life happens and often the best laid plans can go awry, however, we are a small family run business.  When we have unexpected cancellations we do not have time to fill the rooms and the financial impact is greatly detrimental.  With this understanding in mind we structured the following cancellation policy.  The deposit is refundable only if changes in your reservation are made at least 21 days prior to your reservation dates. In the event a cancellation is made less than 21 days prior to your reservation dates, we can offer the deposit as payment towards a future stay with us.

Please note: Deposits for special events are nonrefundable due to the amount of work that goes into accommodating an event.
